Great Barrier Reef - Outer Reef Platform Dive and Snorkel
Our dive team will tell you that Scuba Diving is the only way to really experience the Great Barrier Reef! Diving from our Outer Reef activity platform is suitable for first time divers to experienced divers.
We choose the most suitable sites for the conditions, water clarity and marine life on your day of travel to ensure the best dive and in-water experiences.
For certified divers travelling with non-diving companions, reef platform experiences are a great option. While you dive amongst some of the highest marine biodiversity in the world, they can participate in a variety of platform activities – including the choice of an introductory dive.
- Experience up to 2 dives
- Access to the water is from the platform, very close to the reef
- Boat dives may be available (certified divers only)
For an underwater adventure to remember, come diving with us! It’s fun and no experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive. Our professional and experienced instructors will guide you through every aspect of your dive, allowing you to have a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
If you are considering an introductory dive please see our divecrew on boarding the vessel. Pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

Advice for Water Activities
The minimum age for Scuba Diving and Scuba-Doo is 12 years. Certain medical conditions, medications and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional in-water activities. For advice, contact our office. After a single dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.
Lycra suits are available for hire for adults and children entering the water, providing sun protection and reducing the possibility of stings and irritations from marine stingers that can frequent tropical waters seasonally. The lycra suits have long sleeves and legs with a hood and mittens. They're a great fun fashion statement and photo opportunity too!
Snorkelling can be a strenuous activity. Please use caution and inform our crew of any medical conditions.
